Push alerts
Get an alert on your iPhone when an agent is blocked or done, and see what each alert carries.
Coming in 1.2.0. This feature is not in the current release (1.1.0). It ships in flockr 1.2.0.
The iPhone app can get a push alert when an agent is blocked or done, so you know which one needs you without opening the app.
When alerts fire
- Blocked: an agent is waiting on an approval or a question.
- Done: an agent finished and you haven't seen it yet. If you are looking at its pane on the desktop, it counts as seen and no alert goes out.
flockr waits a short time (confirm_delay_ms, 5 seconds by default) and checks the status again before sending. This drops alerts for status that flickers. While the app is open, the alert shows inside the app instead of as a push.
Tapping an alert opens that agent's pane.
How an alert travels
- Your flockr server sends the alert to Expo's push service (
exp.host). - Expo hands it to Apple's push service.
- Apple delivers it to your iPhone.
Push alerts are the only flockr data that passes through someone else's servers. Everything else goes straight from the phone to your own computer.
What an alert carries
- Title: the agent's name and status, for example
Claude is blockedorClaude finished. - Body: the workspace, tab, and server name, for example
flockr › mobile · dk-desktop. - Data the app uses to open the right pane when you tap: the server's ID and name, the status, the agent's name, the workspace and tab names, and their IDs.
Alerts carry no terminal output, no typed text, and no messages.
Turn alerts off
Push settings live in [mobile.push]:
[mobile.push]
enabled = true
blocked = true
done = true
confirm_delay_ms = 5000
# expo_access_token = ""| Key | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
enabled | true | Send push alerts. false stops pushes. Alerts still show inside the app while it is open. |
blocked | true | Alert when an agent becomes blocked. |
done | true | Alert when an agent becomes done. |
confirm_delay_ms | 5000 | Re-check delay before sending (0 to 60000). |
expo_access_token | unset | Optional Expo access token ("enhanced push security"), sent as a Bearer token. |
These keys are part of [mobile], so they need a server restart.
Limits
- Each phone gets at most 30 pushes a minute.
- Revoking a phone with
flockr mobile devices revokeremoves its push token, so it gets no more alerts.
